Well, Upton’s Breakroom is their restaurant! The fast casual restaurant is aptly named because it used to be open only to employees – the company is based in Chicago – but the company realized that they should open it to the public as well! I am so happy they did this is the best place to try Upton’s products cooked into delicious dishes. You may know the seitan (and now jackfruit) company Upton’s Naturals. Try: the sample platter (a little bit of everything!) and the mint brownie square Upton’s Breakroom As a foodie, I’m so curious about the different ways to prepare food I almost never make raw food myself (unless you count the basic smoothies and salads) so I’m fascinated by the raw empanadas, lasagna, pad thai, etc Chicago Raw has to offer. I do appreciate that the gluten-free options are labeled, though! My friends who aren’t gluten-free love all the gluten-containing options.Ĭhicago Raw is another long-time Chicago food favorite. I’m going to be honest, I haven’t had the best of luck with gluten-free options here – I’m still working on finding a GF dish I really love. They have fast casual options like burgers, salads, bowls, etc. Veggiegrill is another national plant-based chain. Try: the meatball sub and oatmeal cream pie Veggiegrill

If you are in Oak Park for a day trip or to see the Frank Lloyd Wright home and studio, you have to go here! They have a rotating daily special and a small menu of plant-forward meals from soups to burgers to salads. Oak Park’s very own vegetarian cafe! Located right on Marion Street, Munch is a favorite for my Oak Park family. Try: the nachos and mint chip Vegan s’mores sundaes from the Chicago Diner Munch They also have seasonal specials, and clearly denoted gluten-free options. The milkshakes here are absolutely incredible.

plus a really good brunch on the weekends. With the tagline “meat-free since ‘83,” they’ve been around for a while! You can get all the standard vegan comfort food here like burgers, mac n cheese, wings, etc. Without further ado, here are my Chicago vegan restaurant recommendations! I hope you find something you love! All (or almost entirely) vegan restaurants Chicago DinerĬhicago Diner is rightfully famous. In this post I wanted to break down my favorite vegan spots in Chicago for you all! This is nowhere near an exhaustive list, mostly because I haven’t been to anywhere near all the vegan restaurants in Chicago! There are seriously so many awesome all-vegan options it blows my mind! The following restaurants are just the ones I’ve been to personally, but definitely check out Happy Cow for more vegan restaurants if you live in Chicago or are visiting! I was so excited to move to DC and I truly love it here, but there are definitely things I miss about Chicago, like these incredible restaurants! after briefly living in my parents’ house outside of Chicago after college.
Hey fantastic foodies! Some of you may know that I recently moved to Washington, D.C. Photo credit to my amazing little sister Maire O’Donnell!
